Two children were bitten by snakes and require antivenom


José Antonio Yépez, 9 years old, is one of the bitten children, he is confined in the pediatric emergency of the Dr. Agustín Zubillaga hospital in Barquisimeto.

He was bitten by a Guayacán snake on his right foot and received a first dose, but requires two more kits of antivenom to complete his treatment. Source: cactus24.com.ve


Luis David Contreras, 12, is the other bitten child who entered the emergency room at the José María Vargas central hospital in San Cristóbal last Saturday, after being bitten by a "cuatro narices" snake on his right foot.

Major Luis Contreras, a snake specialist, said the children are in delicate condition.
